MIT's Shakespeare Page

All of Shakespeare's works at one place, on one page. Maybe I should have gone to MIT.

Dante's Inferno
|
Dante's Inferno is far and away my favorite epic poem of all. I think Dante's vision of Hell is fascinating, as is the contrast between poet and pilgrim. My favorite English version of The Inferno is the translation by Robert Pinsky, which I haven't been able to find anywhere on the net. This will have to do for now. You can read all of The Divine Comedy at this site if you so desire, though it gets dull as Dante progresses towards Paradise, at least in my opinion.

The Canterbury Tales
|
I took a course last semester in Chaucer, and now I adore The Canterbury Tales. The Tale of Sir Thopas is the funniest parody of high Arthurian romance I've ever read. Reading it in Middle English isn't as hard as one might think, either. I urge you to give it a try; Chaucer is a wonderful, wonderful storyteller.

Ulysses for Dummies
|
Okay, so this isn't really James Joyce's mind-numbing masterpiece. It's an extremely condensed version, complete with stick figure illustrations. If this site strikes you as humorous, you should probably major in English.
